Lord du Mesnil Heavy 3M Veterans 147 -
145 (-2)
Lord Du Mesnil loves soft/heavy ground, and carries some very nice form, when on soft ground. He's 10 turning 11, so he might be kept to veterans chases this season. He's definitely good enough to win one, but he might need some further help from the handicapper. If they can get him down to the low 140's, he'll be dangerous in those types of races, especially with Lilly Pinchin likely to be on his back.

Perfect Swiss 64 1M Newcastle/Southwell -
62 (-2)
No run whatsoever behind runners, surprised they gave him 2lb's back.  He would be of interest at Newcastle/Southwell, over 1m.

Way To Dubai Up in trip, maybe turf campaign? 91 -
90 (-1)
Travelled well, before getting short of room behind Johnny James, stayed on under an easy enough ride, towards the finish. Looks to have been running over further in Germany, so will probably improve for a step up in trip. Now, down 4lb's since joining the Fellowes team.  I would need to see another couple of runs for new connections, but I think his run was certainly interesting enough to track, especially with him being unexposed under the BHA handicapper.

Geremia 81 1m6 AW -
80 (-1)
Ridden stone cold in rear, then 'ridden' behind runners up the straight.  Once he was angled out for a proper run, widest of all, he rattled home for 4th.  We'll take an extra pound off his back for when the handbrake is released.

Royal Scandal 85 F&M 12F+ AW? -
82 (-3)
From the same race as Geremia, she was dropped into last by the jockey (pulled from the stalls).  Then when they turned in, she made really nice, eye-catching headway up the rail, but as there was nowhere to go, the jockey very tamely rid her home.  Which gave the impression of her run petering out.  When she would've got a lot closer had she not ran into traffic.  She finished 12th, and has been given 3lb's back by the handicapper.
On bare form you'd think she's not ran well since her win last year, but she has been running in some good races, and has put up a couple of eye-catching performances. She probably does want that 12F range, and her better runs have all come on the AW.  She'll probably be seen to best effect when she's put into a fillies and mares handicap.  Market support would be a bonus wherever she goes next.

Glorious Angel 6F, F&M? 88 -
86 (-2)
Given a hands and heels only ride by Sam James, and at some points in the straight, not even that.  This looked to be because of Chipstead blocking her path.  But, she would've been a lot closer had she had a free run up the rail.  I'd say she's a better horse over 6F too, so getting 2lb's back for that run is lenient from the handicapper.  She might end up needing a little more help from the handicapper, but if she can find a F&M 6F race at an AW track, she might be in the Winners Enclosure sooner than later.

Nelson Gay 77 5F Wolves -
76 (-1)
Ran very keen behind runners early on, and was held onto a lot longer than the others.  He never got a chance to get going either, because he was short of room all up the straight.  This meant he was hands and heeled home.  Handicapper clearly noticed as he's only given him 1lb back, but i think he's well in enough to win anyway.  5F at Wolves ideal, but I'd be tempted at least at any AW track.  Hopefully they go for a Cl4/5.

Eligible 1M Southwell 80 -
79 (-1)
Ran really well on his comeback run, and I think he probably just needed the run.  And hopefully that run will bring him back to race fitness.  He finished the turf season in good vain, so it was good to see him run well on his return.  He did land a couple of races at Christmas time last year, and he seems to really enjoy Southwell.  Surprised to see the handicapper give him anything back.  Hopefully they'll put him in another mile handicap at Southwell before Christmas!

Afterlife 64 AW 7F/1M -
60 (-4)
Technically dropped 7lb's, as he was dropped 3lb's in the week prior too. I don't buy that he's a 6F horse, and I also don't buy the way they've been running him.  If you watch his last run, which he was dropped 4lb's for, the jockey held onto him coming out of the stalls, and for the first 2/3 Furlongs..  Once he was well off the pace, they pushed him along hands and heels to make up late ground.  It has obviously worked, as he was dropped 4lb's, compared to 1lb for that very "eye-catching" ride at Chelmsford, when 5th.  His high SP's and lack of market support also suggest the handbrake has been left on.
He's now 12lb's below that eye-catching run at Chester, he can also now drop into 0-60 Cl6 company.  I think they will release the handbrake over 7F/1M (probably 7F's).  The market will more than likely tell you whether it's a going day or not next time.  But, I'd be extremely shocked if he's not capable of winning a 0-60 Cl6, over 7F on the AW...

Albert's Back 130 Soft Wetherby -
129 (-1)
Albert is another horse that loves the mud, and he also seems to love Wetherby.  He fell at Haydock when plugging away behind the leaders, he may still need a couple pounds off his back, but a return to Wetherby and Soft/Heavy ground, would certainly enhance his chances.
